15 mm OD Cylinder Inserts

NOTE: Cylinder inserts are sprayed with a protective coating in the factory to prevent corrosion during transit and storage.  Individual cylinder inserts should be rinsed in acetone prior to use for optimal electrochemical results.

These cylinder inserts are designed for use with our standard 15 mm OD RCE tips.  Cylinder inserts are sold in packages of ten (10).  Each package includes a certification sheet for the material used to manufacture the cylinders.  Our standard cylinder inserts, shown in the pricing table, are fabricated from a variety of steel alloys.  Cylinders inserts fabricated from other materials are also available upon request.

Some customers prefer to use cylinder inserts provided by Metal Samples (Munford, Alabama).  Metal Sample with part numbers in the series "SB239xxx2800000" (where the "xxx" denotes the material of interest) have the same nominal dimensions as our standard 15 mm OD cylinder inserts.

Dummy inserts made from PTFE can also be purchased for general cleaning and storage of 15 mm OD RCE shafts.
