LowProfile Ag/AgCl Reference (110 mm long)

SKU: RRPEAGCL-110 Category: Tag:

These 110 mm long LowProfile reference electrodes are ideally used with cells that have long necks or long working distances.  The low cost of these reference electrodes makes them ideal for any application, including non-aqueous electrochemistry.  These non-aqueous reference electrodes have an Ag wire and no filling electrolyte.  These electrodes are sold as a kit, containing three glass tubes with ceramic frits in one end, which slide into the PTFE cap/pin/Ag wire assembly.  The outer diameter of the electrodes is 3.5 mm and electrical connection is made via a 1.0 mm diameter pin at the top end of the electrode.  This pin can accept an alligator clip or a small cable with an appropriately sized “pin and socket” connector.

See “Description” tab below for additional precautions and information.

Description

These 110 mm LowProfile reference electrodes are designed for use with electrochemical cells with longer necks and/or long working distances.  The low cost of these reference electrodes also make them ideal for any application.  The reference electrode is an Ag wire, coated with solid AgCl, immersed in a KCl gel electrolyte*.  The electrode elements are sealed within a ceramic fritted glass tube, whose outer diameter of the is 3.5 mm.  The electrical connection is made via a 1.0 mm diameter pin at the top end of the electrode.  This pin can accept an alligator clip or a small cable with an appropriately sized “pin and socket” connector.

Three different lengths are available for these LowProfile reference electrodes.  The standard version, which is 74 mm long, is ideally used with our Compact Voltammetry Cells.  The shorter version, which is 60 mm long, is ideally used with our Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemical Cell.  Additionally, Pine Research offers an extra long version for taller cells, or cells with long necks, that is 110 mm long.

*The gel is comprised of a mixture of potassium chloride, glycerol, and cellulose gum.
