The OpenTop Cell with Drain Valve Kit has been designed for use with the 15 mm RCE electrode, MSR Rotator, and a potentiostat.  This product is only the cell and accessories.  All other parts required to perform corrosion-based RCE expeirments will require additional instrumentation.  This cell kit might be purchased to augment an existing system.  Additionally, the parts that are included with this kit are provided below and can be purchased separately as necessary.  Features of this cell kit include:

  • 1 liter glass cell with drain valve and special RCE recess
  • all parts are compatible and assemble to create a closed system
  • all components are compatible with ASTM standards G31, G170, and G185

The OpenTop Cell with Drain Valve Kit includes:  glass cell, OpenTop lid, 8 MutaPort Adapters, 7 PTFE stoppers, 3 lid clamps, and a ribbon clamp and crossjoint.  This kit does not include RCE electrode, rotator, counter or reference electrodes, or other accessories.

Complete 15 mm RCE Kits

The OpenTop Cell with Drain Valve Kit has been designed for use with the 15 mm RCE electrode, MSR Rotator, and a potentiostat.  This product is only the cell and accessories.  All other parts required to perform corrosion-based RCE expeirments will require additional instrumentation.  This cell kit might be purchased to augment an existing system. Additionally, the parts that are included with this kit are provided below and can be purchased separately as necessary.

One Liter Cell. With an overall one liter capacity, the cell features a removable lid with six flexible side ports. You can equip your cell with a variety of accessories (condenser, pH measurement, thermowell, each sold separately) while still having enough ports for the reference and counter electrode. Cells with drain valves and water jackets are also available.

Alignment. The standard RCE glass cell features a special recess in the bottom of the cell into which the lower end of the RCE shaft is inserted. This recess provides a guide for aligning the shaft along the center line of the cell.
