LowProfile Platinum Counter Electrode

SKU: RRPG257PT Category: Tags: ,

WARNING: The black body of the electrode only has limited compatibility with organic solvents such as methylene chloride or DMF. Thus, try to immerse only the Pt coil in an organic electrolyte.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: 10°C – 25°C — Electrode damage may occur at temperatures beyond recommended range.

The LowProfile Platinum Counter Electrode is designed for use with Pine Research’s Low Volume Cells.  The electrode features a 0.5 mm OD Pt wire shrouded in PTFE, sealed in an epoxy tube, and a gold-plated pin for easy connection to a potentiostat.  The electrode shroud is 7.0 mm OD x 65 mm long.  Electrical connection is made via a 1.0 mm OD gold-plated pin at the top end of the electrode.  This pin can accept an alligator clip or a small cable with an appropriately sized “pin and socket” connector.

  • Pt wire OD = 0.5 mm; approximate surface area = 0.58 cm2
  • 7.0 mm OD x 65 mm epoxy tube shroud
  • Compatible with our Low Volume Cells

See “Description” tab below for additional precautions and information.

Description

WARNING: The black body of the electrode is made of epoxy, which will swell if soaked in organic or non-aqueous solvents such as methylene chloride or DMF. Try to avoid immerse the black epoxy body in the solvent electrolyte. Instead, immerse only the Pt coil in an organic electrolyte.
