Description
These 60 mm LowProfile reference electrodes are designed ideally for used with the Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemical Cell. The low cost of these reference electrodes also make them ideal for nearly any aqueous-based application. The reference electrode is an Ag wire, coated with solid AgCl, immersed in a KCl gel electrolyte*. The electrode elements are sealed within a ceramic fritted glass tube, whose outer diameter of the is 3.5 mm. The electrical connection is made via a 1.0 mm diameter pin at the top end of the electrode. This pin can accept an alligator clip or a small cable with an appropriately sized “pin and socket” connector.
Three different lengths are available for these LowProfile reference electrodes. The standard version, which is 74 mm long, is ideally used with our Screen-Printed Electrode Cells. The shorter version, which is 60 mm long, is ideally used with our Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemical Cell. Additionally, Pine Research offers an extra long version for taller cells, or cells with long necks, that is 110 mm long.
*The gel is comprised of a mixture of potassium chloride, glycerol, and cellulose gum.
